Sunburn not the only UV radiation danger Folks who spend a lot of time outdoors, like our players and their parents, need to be aware of the danger ultraviolet radiation from the sun poses for your eyes, too. Here is an informtive article from the American Optometric Association. TOPSoccer a big success TOPSoccer is a training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 5 to 18, who has a mental or physical disability. Our first season of TOPSoccer was a HUGE success. The program is set to begin again in the fall, 2008 season. A big Thank you to our TopSoccer sponsor: Cavender Auto Family. We need volunteers and "buddies" to make this program a success in San Antonio. Here is more information. Newsletter You can view our October newsletter here. Fort Sam Houston now prohibits talking on mobile phones while driving on the post. Violators will be ticketed, so pull over and stop if you need to use your cell phone on the way to the games. And according to the article about the policy in the Express-News, the ban applies to hands-free sets, too.
